Mangaluru: City bus seized for rash, negligent driving in Bejai

Mangaluru, Nov 27, 2025: A city bus was handed over to the Pandeshwar Traffic Police by the public after it was allegedly driven at high speed and in a negligent manner near the Bejai Government Bus Stand junction.

On Wednesday, the Route No. 15 bus travelling from Lalbagh towards Mangala Devi was reportedly driven rashly by the driver, who attempted to overtake vehicles at the junction.

During the incident, the bus collided with a bike that was waiting at the junction, causing the rider to fall on the road. Other pedestrians and motorists nearby were alarmed seeing the bus being driven recklessly.

The public stopped the bus, made the driver get down, and informed the police, demanding action against him. Police seized the bus and instructed that it can be taken back only after the fine is paid.
