Mangaluru, September 28, 2025: Facing poor internet connectivity and software glitches, the Dakshina Kannada district administration will soon conduct camps to speed up the social and educational survey being carried out by the Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes.

Enumerators engaged in door-to-door data collection said weak network coverage in rural areas and frequent software crashes were hampering updates, even after visiting several households. In some cases, families in Mangaluru city refused to share details, further slowing progress.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Raju K acknowledged the initial hurdles but maintained that the survey is moving forward. “Though there are network issues, the work is picking up. We have now received permission to hold the survey in camp mode, which will be rolled out in the next phase,” he said.

He added that a revised version of the survey software has already been released to address technical snags, making the process smoother.
