Mangaluru Cabinet meet on Sept 18: Police announce traffic diversions, alternative routes

Mangaluru, September 17, 2026: The Karnataka government will hold a Cabinet meeting at the District Collectorate (Prajasaudha) in Padil, Mangaluru, on September 18. As Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and other ministers are scheduled to attend, the Mangaluru Police Commissionerate has announced traffic arrangements and diversions to ensure smooth movement of traffic.

The police have appealed to the public to cooperate and avoid parking vehicles along the designated routes.

Routes to be used by dignitaries

September 17 evening and September 19 morning:
Bajpe Airport – Kavoor – Bondel – Maryhill – KPT – Kadri Kambla – Bunts Hostel – Dr B.R. Ambedkar Junction – Hampankatta Clock Tower – Hamilton Junction.

September 18 morning:
Hamilton Junction – Clock Tower – Hampankatta – Dr B.R. Ambedkar Junction – KPT Junction – Nanthoor Circle – Pumpwell – Naguri – Bajal Cross (Prajasaudha) – Padil Junction.

The police have stated that there will be no disruption to the movement of ambulances and other emergency service vehicles.

Alternative routes
* Vehicles travelling from Badria Junction towards Hamilton Junction via Hotel Taj Vivanta should instead take the Badria Junction – Nileshwar Road – Rosario Road route.
* Vehicles travelling from Hamilton Junction towards Badria Junction via Hotel Taj Vivanta should instead use Nellikai Road from Hamilton Junction.
* Vehicles travelling between Pumpwell Junction and Padil Junction via Naguri should take alternative routes through Nanthoor Circle – Kaikamba – Maroli, or via Thokkottu – Deralakatte – Mudipu – Boliyar – Melkar.
* Vehicles travelling from Bajal Cross (Prajasaudha) towards Bajal or Kankanady Railway Station, and in the opposite direction, should continue on NH 66, take the Jappinamogaru exit, and proceed via Bajal.
* Vehicles travelling from Thokkottu towards Pumpwell should take the Mahakali Padpu – Mangaladevi route to enter the city.

The traffic arrangements were announced by Mangaluru Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy, who urged motorists to cooperate with the police during the Cabinet meeting.
