Mangaluru: CCB arrests alleged MDMA supplier, seizes drugs worth Rs 2.1 lakh

Mangaluru, Jun 26, 2026: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested a man allegedly involved in supplying drugs in Mangaluru. The accused has been identified as Annapa Swamy alias Manu (26), a native of Surathkal and currently residing at Kulaigudde.

Acting on credible information that the accused had procured the banned narcotic substance MDMA and was selling it to the public and students from his residence in the Kulaigudde area, the CCB police conducted a raid on June 25 and apprehended him.

During the operation, the police seized 15 grams of MDMA worth approximately ₹1.5 lakh, along with a mobile phone, zip-lock covers, and a digital weighing scale. The total value of the seized property is estimated at ₹2,10,500. A case has been registered at the Surathkal Police Station.

Police said Annapa Swamy has a criminal history. He has previously been booked under the NDPS Act at Panambur and Bajpe police stations. Cases of assault and stone-pelting at a mosque have also been registered against him at Surathkal Police Station, while an attempt-to-murder case is pending against him at Ullal Police Station.

The operation was carried out by officers and personnel of the Mangaluru City CCB. Police said several others are suspected to be involved in the drug trafficking network, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the remaining accused.
