Mangaluru: Bus conductor arrested for sexually harassing college students

Mangaluru, July 11, 2026: A bus conductor has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing college students travelling on a private bus in Mangaluru.

The accused has been identified as Irfan (32), a resident of Karvelu in Uppinangady. He was working as a conductor on a private bus operating on the Mangaluru-Vittal route.

According to the police, the incident occurred at around 5 pm on July 9, when the conductor allegedly behaved indecently with college girls on the bus, made obscene gestures, and allegedly called the students to the back seat, subjecting them to sexual harassment.

Based on a complaint, a case was registered against the accused at the Mangaluru South Police Station. Police arrested Irfan on July 10 and have taken up further investigation into the case.
