Mangaluru: Bomb threat e-mail to District Court turns out to be hoax

Mangaluru, Feb 17, 2026: Following bomb threat e-mails sent to several district courts across the state, a similar threat was received by the Dakshina Kannada District Court in Mangaluru, triggering a brief period of tension.

As soon as the e-mail threat came to light, the bomb disposal squad and sniffer dog unit swung into action and carried out intensive searches across the court परिसर, including courtrooms and the parking area. After hours of thorough checks, no suspicious objects were found, confirming that the threat was a hoax.

Notably, the Mangaluru court has received similar threat e-mails on two earlier occasions as well. A case has been registered at the Bunder Police Station, and police have launched an investigation.
