Mangaluru: Body found in river near fishing harbour; murder suspected

Mangaluru, Apr 8, 2026: A body was discovered in a river near the fishing harbour Bunder area of the city, raising suspicions of murder.

The deceased has been identified as Naseer, also known as Dakke Naseer, who was reportedly involved in multiple theft and robbery cases.

According to initial reports, injury marks were found on the forehead and other parts of the body, suggesting possible foul play. Police suspect that unidentified miscreants may have murdered him and later dumped the body into the river.

The body was found near an under-construction building in the Dakke area.

Personnel from the Pandeshwar Police Station rushed to the spot, conducted a preliminary inspection, and have launched an investigation into the incident.
