Mangaluru: Biker killed in Valachil hit-and-run; car driver flees scene

Mangaluru, Aug. 13, 2026: A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident after a car allegedly rammed into his bike and fled the scene near Valachil on the outskirts of Mangaluru on Wednesday night.

The accident occurred in front of a newly opened petrol pump near Valachil. The impact of the collision was so severe that the biker was thrown a considerable distance from the spot.

The deceased has been identified by locals as Harris, a resident of Sooralpady. The incident reportedly took place around 10 p.m. Harris sustained grievous injuries in the crash and died on the spot.

Kankanady Traffic Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving and are investigating the accident.
