Mangaluru: BJP workers celebrate Assembly election results with crackers, sweets

Mangaluru, May 5, 2026: BJP workers in Mangaluru celebrated enthusiastically as the party surged ahead and moved towards a majority in the Assembly election results in three states, including West Bengal.

Hundreds of party workers gathered in front of the district BJP office near PVS, bursting crackers and distributing laddus to mark the occasion.

 

A highlight of the celebration was MLA Vedavyas Kamath personally preparing churumuri and serving it to party workers and the public. The gesture was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi having relished churumuri during his West Bengal election campaign.

Slogans praising the party’s victory were raised during the celebrations.

Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta, BJP district president, and other leaders were present. Women party workers also joined the celebrations with slogans and dance.
