Mangaluru: BJP stages protest against fuel price hike

Mangaluru, June 20, 2024: The district unit of the BJP staged a protest near the PVS Circle on June 20, Thursday, to oppose the hike in fuel prices by the State Congress government.

MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta who was part of the protest, accused the state government of burdening the people through the fuel price hike. He went on to allege that CM Siddaramaiah has resorted to this measure to punish the people of the state who supported the BJP in Lok Sabha elections.

MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur, several BJP corporators as well as party workers and leaders took part in the protest.

When the protestor staged protest on the road and blocked vehicular movement, they were detained by the police.
