Mangaluru: 73rd Republic Day celebrated

Mangaluru, Jan 26, 2022: The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated  at the Nehru Maidan on January 26, Wednesday with  District in-charge Minister V Sunil Kumar unfurling the national tri-colour. The minister also inspected a guard of honour.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Kumar said various  people-friendly projects have been initiated under the leadership of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

He said the district has been successful in handling the Covid pandemic and said 97% of the population has received the first dose of Covid vaccine and 81% the second dose. He said as many as 25 primary health centres will be upgraded  and informed that the Ayushman Bharat scheme has benefitted eight lakh people.

Padma Shri Award recipient Harekala Hajabba, Amai Mahalinga Nayak, progressive farmer who has been chosen for this year’s Padma Shri, Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra, City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar, ZP CEO Kumar, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Dr Bharath Shetty, Mayor Premananda Shetty and many others were present.
