Mangaluru: 3 arrested at Konaje for sandalwood smuggling

Mangaluru, Feb 07, 2022: Konaje police have arrested three persons in connection with a sandalwood smuggling case. Sandalwood logs worth around Rs 25,000 have been seized from them.

 

Those arrested are Majeed alias Nawaz  of Beluvai, Sharief alias Duniya Sharief of Bantwal and Lakshman Shetty of Varkady.

The accused were arrested  near the vicinity of  Mangalore University. They are also being questioned in connection with the sandalwood theft case reported from the University area in 2020 and 2021.
