Mangaluru: 17 cattle rescued from illegal and cruel transportation, one arrested

Mangaluru, Sep 22, 2026: Police intercepted a vehicle near Padil in Mangaluru after receiving information from Bajrang Dal members about the alleged illegal and inhumane transportation of cattle.

According to police, 17 cattle were being transported in a cruel manner in the vehicle. The Kankanady police stopped the vehicle and rescued the animals.

One person involved in the transportation was arrested, while another allegedly fled the scene and is currently absconding.

Police also reportedly recovered narcotic substances from the arrested person.

The operation was carried out by the Kankanady police. Further investigation is underway.
