Mangaluru: 15 booked for trespassing, fishing near Netravathi Railway Bridge

Mangaluru, Jun 24, 2026: Railway authorities conducted a special enforcement drive at the Netravathi railway bridge on Tuesday, booking 15 persons for trespassing and fishing activities in the area and collecting fines totalling ₹7,500.

The operation was led by Railway Protection Force (RPF) Inspector Manoj Kumar Yadav, along with station officials and railway staff.

During the drive, officials detected several individuals trespassing on railway property and engaging in fishing near the bridge, activities considered hazardous and in violation of railway safety regulations.

A total of 15 cases were registered under the Jan Vishwas Act, with each violator fined ₹500. The collected amount was remitted to the booking office at Mangaluru, railway officials said.
