Mangaluru: 11 year old boy dies, mother injured as speeding bus rams into scooty

Mangaluru, Mar 25, 2023: An eleven year old boy died while his mother sustained injuries after a speeding bus rammed into their two-wheeler at Bendorewell on March 24, Friday afternoon.

The deceased is Hardik Kumar. His mother Swati Pramod (33) has been injured and is hospitalised.

 

Swati and Hardik were heading towards Nantoor from Kankanady at around 3 pm when the mishap took place. As a bus was parked at Bendorewell bus stand, Swati moved to the right of the road. However a private bus from behind  which was speeding and was trying to overtake the parked bus, rammed into the scooty  of Swati and the vehicle’s handle broke. Both Swati and Hardik fell on the road and the little boy was crushed under the speeding bus.

Hardik was a fifth standard student of a school at Kodialbail while Swati is a teacher. Public have expressed anguish at the recklessness of the bus driver that has claimed the life of a little boy.
