Mangalorean artist Suraj Walke presents solo exhibition of paintings

Mangalore, June 17, 2012: Dr. Yusuf Kumble of Indiana Hospital and N. S. Pattar, HOD of painting in Mahalasa School of Art, inaugurated “Mindscapes,” a 3-day exhibition of paintings by Suraj S. Walke on June 16, Saturday. 


Mr. Pattar said on the occasion that Mr. Walke’s paintings are creative and original, presenting innovation and depth. He also expressed his appreciation of Orchid Art Gallery Director William Pais for encouraging young, budding artists to exhibit their experimental paintings.

The Mangalore-born Walke got his BVA degree in painting from Mahalasa College of Visual Art in Mangalore. Having taken part in over 15 group shows, he was one of the 96 artists selected from 3,365 artists at the Lalit Kala Academy National Exhibition held in 2010. He also has a number of awards such as the Camlin Art Foundation Award and MS Academy Ujjain Award to his credit. “Mindscapes” is his first solo exhibition of paintings.
