
Mangalore, Dec 15, 2011 : The outgoing IGP Alok Mohan was given a fond farewell at a special ceremony held in Karnataka Bank Hall in Kodialbail on Dec 14. SP Labhu Ram delivered the welcome address.
Prathap Reddy, the new IGP of Western Range, said that he used to discuss a number of issues with Alok Mohan. He said that the successor is duty bound to continue the good work of the predecessor and promised to continue working with discipline as Mr. Mohan had done.
Dr. Ravikumar, the superintendent of Udupi, said that working with IGP Alok Mohan is a very challenging experience. Sharing his experiences, he said that when he was appointed as the superintendent for the first time, there were several cases of theft and shooting, but he could handle it all with the able guidance of Alok Mohan. Recalling the work schedule of Alok Mohan, he said that he used to work for 24 hours whenever a VIP arrived and in case of special events. He said that the younger officers have learned professionalism and hard work from the IGP.
DC Dr. Channappa Gowda said that it is quite normal for officers to get transferred, but what they leave behind is of great importance. He said that Alok Mohan and his good work will be remembered by everybody.
Speaking on the occasion, Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said that when he was appointed as the police commissioner, Alok Mohan had supported him continuously and had lifted his spirits.



Alok Mohan said that he considers his colleagues as his greatest friends and that he has learned a lot from them. He also remarked that all good people are posted in the Western Range because he had the best people to work with. Lauding Mangaloreans, he said that they are very positive-mined and honest people. He also thanked the media for helping him tackle a number of cases. In conclusion, he thanked Joe Gonsalves, the senior citizen and social activist, and all others for supporting him throughout his term.
