Mangalore, Sep 8, 2013: World Physiotherapy Day was observed by organising a workshop and blood donation camp at MV Shetty College of Physiotherapy on September 8, Sunday.
State Minister for Health and Family Welfare UT Khader, who was the chief guest of the occasion, said physiotherapists play a very important role in recuperation of patients after surgeries and other ailments. He also advised youngsters to evince more interest in serving their mother land rather than working abroad.
The Minister further said the assembly session would discuss the proposal to set up an independent physiotherapy council which will frame regulations for physiotherapists.
Dr M Ramgopal Shetty, Founder Secretary of Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust presided over the function.
Dr Rajeshwari, District Surgeon of Government Wenlock Hospital, Dr Pradeep Shanker, resource person, Prof. Urmila and Dr Ranjith Shetty, Trustees, also spoke at the function. Prof. Gladson Jose,Principal of the College, Mohammad Sohail, Assistant Professor and others were present.
