Mangalore University hostel students protest against poor quality food

Mangaluru, May 02, 2024: Over 200 students of the Mangalore University staged a protest in front of the residence of the Vice Chancellor on Wednesday night  alleging that the food supplied to them at the hostel was of poor quality.

 

They staged the protest with vessels containing stale rice. The students alleged that the hostel cooking staff did not respond to their pleas.

The VC who was in Bengaluru spoke to the protestors over phone and assured strict action against the guilty.

Later Registrar Raju Mogaveera rushed to the spot and held talks with the protestors. Still the protest continued till late night. Later police arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control.
