Mangalore University College lecturer’s face smeared with cow dung

Mangalore, Apr 21: Pattabhirama Somayaji, a lecturer in Mangalore University College was smeared with cow dung on his face in an incident that took place near Pumpwell on on April 21.

 

 

 

Incident has taken place in the afternoon, when Somayaji, the chief of flying squad, along with Harini, lecturer in Vivekananda college Puttur, Ganesh Prasad, lecturer in Vivekananda college Puttur, Yathish Shetty, lecturer in Sarosh college and Rathnakar, lecturer in Government college Sullia had lunch in Hotel Padmashree near Pumpwell and they were standing near their car. A person appeared on a bike brought cow dung in a plastic cover and threw it on Somayaji’s face.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kankanady rural police station then came to the spot, after which Somayaji with others went to the police station to register a complaint.
 
Speaking to the media, Somayaji alleged that activists of Sangha Parivar might have done this act as he is known for his speeches against Sangha Parivar, and after the infamous pub attack, he had termed the Rama Sene as ’Ravana Sene’ which had led to protests in the city.
