Mangalore : Tiles showroom at Falnir burgled

Mangalore, July 19, 2013 :  Several valuable Jaquar Wall mixer units were stolen  from the tiles and sanitaryware showroom -PC Mallappa &Co near Highland Hospital at Falnir  here on the night of July 18, Thursday.

Thieves who made their way into the showroom by breaking open the shutter locks from the rear side, laid their hands on the expensive Jaquar Wall Mixer units which costed  Rs 3000 to Rs 4000 each. Cash to the tune of nearly Rs 50,000 has also been stolen.

It has been learnt that though there were over 12 CC Cameras inside the showroom and at exit points, the CCTV footages showed happenings only till 8 pm.  The showroom staff informed that  the CCTV unit  was linked to the main switch and that they had turned off the main switch before closing the previous day.

The thieves who escaped with the valuables have however left the cartons inside the shop itself. Investigations are progressing.
