Mangalore South Assembly Constituency: JR Lobo trounces Yogish Bhat

Mangalore, May 8, 2013:  Congress candidate JR Lobo has broken the winning spree of four time MLA Yogish Bhat, by defeating the latter  by a margin of 11610 votes in the prestigious Mangalore South Assembly constituency.

The victory of Lobo, a former bureaucrat and the defeat of Yogish Bhat has been a major setback to the BJP.

 

 Already, there was resentment against four times MLA Bhat that he had failed to contribute anything significant to the city during his four terms.

The victory of Lobo in Mangalore South, a constituency where the party was longing for a win  over the past several years, has been a great morale booster for the Congress.
