Mangalore: Scribes have a merry time at sports meet

Mangalore, Feb 25, 2013: Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists Union, in association with Press Club of Mangalore, organized a sports meet for journalists at St Aloysius College ground in the city on February 24, Sunday.

Manjunath Bhandary, Founder of the Bhandary Foundation, inaugurated the meet by lighting the lamp and appreciated the association for organizing  the sports event that fosters unity and friendship.

 

 

 

 

 

National level athlete, Vandana Shanbhag, who was a chief guest  said  sports events help media men who are otherwise bound by their duty 24X7,  get relief from  work stress.

The Association also felicitated international power lifter Geetha Bai, Special Olympics medalists Royston Pinto and Dhanya S Rao with a shawl and memento.

A number of events including musical chair, passing the ball, tug-of-war, slow bike race, cricket, slow scooter race for women, three-legged race, sac race, picking coins mixed with maida with mouth, ice cream eating, banana eating and walkathon were conducted.
