Mangalore : SKSSF holds harmony meet

Mangalore, Jan 13, 2013:  The Samastha Kerala Sunni Students Federation organized a harmony meet at the Sahodaya Convention Hall in Mangalore on January 12, Saturday.

Inaugurating the convention, HS Usman Haji, District Wakf Board President said Islam was a religion of peace and spreads the message of love and brotherhood. He also urged the Muslim community to attach top priority to education.

A Sirajuddin Faiz spoke on the topic “‘Harmony is the oath to protect nationality,” and said it was the duty of each and every individual to uphold secular principles. He also observed that corruption and terrorism were a ban on democracy.

PB Harish Rai, President of DK District Working Journalists’ Association, MG Hegde, JD(S) leader, Abbas Darimi, District SKSSF President and others were present on the occasion.

The SKSSF will be holding a rally and forming a human chain in Sullia on January 26.
