Mangalore: Over 3000 fake mobile phones seized in raid on Dubai market

Mangalore , Feb 23, 2013 :  The Bunder police  who swooped on the Dubai Market located near the Central Market in Mangalore on February 22, Friday evening, have seized over 3000 fake mobile sets which were being sold there. The raid following a complaint by Samsung officials and was led by ACP Kavitha.

The police team thoroughly searched as many as 7 mobile shops at the Dubai market and seized over 3000 handsets valued at Rs 2,000 to Rs 3000.

Sources said a customer, on coming to know about the sale of fake mobile sets   in Mangalore, had complained to the Samsung mobile outlet. It is also said that officials of the Samsung head offices in Bangalore and Chennai had arrived in Mangalore and had lodged a complaint with the police.

During the raid, police have seized several mobile sets which resembled mobile sets of Samsung and other companies.
