Mangalore : Media men protest against arrest of Sharanraj

Mangalore, Jan 3, 2013: Journalists of Mangalore staged a protest in front of the DC office on January 3, Thursday  opposing the arrest of a local  TV channel cameraman  Sharanraj  with regard to   the homestay attack case.

Irshad, reporter of Samaya News, who spoke on the occasion, the arrest of Sharanraj has come as a shock to the media in Mangalore, that too when TV journalist Naveen Soorinje is already behind bars since November 7 and has not yet been granted bail.

Ramdas, Reporter from Spandana Channel, said such acts disheartened the media men and will force  them to refrain from exposing facts.

He also urged State Home Minister R Ashok to take the issue seriously and ensure the early release of both Soorinje and Sharanraj.
