Mangalore : Kodial Khabar presents ‘Konkani Galgalo’ to mark 5th anniversary

Mangalore, Dec 6, 2012  : A variety cultural competition ‘Konkani Galgalo’ was organised at Town Hall in Mangalore on December 5, Wednesday, to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Konkani fortnightly-‘Kodial Khabar.’  Basti Vaman Shenoy, Vishwa Konkani Sardar, inaugurated the contest.

Speaking on the occasion, he said Kodial Khabar was  playing a very important role in inculcating the habit of reading  among the Konkani speaking people. He wished success to the ‘Kodial Khabar’ team.

Kasargod Chinna, President of the Konkani Sahitya Academy said ‘Kodial Khabar’ has been successful in reaching out to a large number of Konkani speaking people through its meaningful write-ups. He was also appreciative of the good works done by the fortnightly since the past five years.

 P Dayanand Pai, Chairman of Century Group released a special issue of  ‘Kodial Khabar’ brought out to commemorate the occasion.

M Raghunath Shet, Kumble Narasimha Prabhu, Ratnaker Kudva, B Ananth Pai, Dr Prakash Nayak and others were present.

A variety of cultural events were presented by various teams including the GSB Mahila Mandali, Puttur, GSB Kala Vrinda Konchady, Chaptekar Saraswath Brahman Samaj and Chitrapur Saraswath Association.
