Mangalore: Jacintha Saldanha’s mortal remains reach Mangalore, taken to Manipal

Mangalore, Dec 16, 2012: The body of Jacintha Saldanha (45), the England based nurse  from Shirva who  reportedly ended her life after a prank call  from Australia Radio RJs enquiring about the health of Prince William’s wife Kate  at the King Edward Hospital in London, arrived  in Mangalore by a Jet Airways flight from Mumbai at around 2.30 pm on December 16, Sunday.

 

 

 

 

The body was flown by a Special Chartered Plane from London to Mumbai and brought to Mangalore by Jet Airways on Sunday December 16 at 2:40 pm. Jacintha’s husband, Benedict Barboza, chidlren Junal and Lisha as well as his sister accompanied the body.

The body is taken to Manipal KMC hospital where it will be kept in mortuary till Monday noon. It will be brought to Jacintha’s house at Shirva on Monday 2 PM. The funeral is expected to be held at 4 PM.

According to sources, Most Rev Dr Gerald Issac Lobo will be the Chief Celebrant of the mass and will perform the final rites, the Priests of local parishes would also join the holy mass.
