Mangalore International Airport to function round the clock from Dec., 2013

 Mangalore, Nov 19, 2013 : J.T.Radhakrishna, Director of Mangalore International Airport has informed that the airport would function 24x7 from December onwards.

He said all arrangements including security system  are in place  to ensure round the clock operations of airport which is presently operating for 20 hours a day. Additional staff have been appointed to facilitate the same, he said.

The 24x7 functioning of the airport will help passengers arriving late in the night, he informed

The Airports Authority has even agreed  to arrange for catering facilities in the wake of the demand  from passengers and a contract has been given to a five star hotel in Mangalore to take up flight catering for Air India. Similarly, a contract has been signed with a hotel in Kerala to supply food to Jet Airways for its passengers. He said the hotel will supply food from its kitchen at Malavoor.
