
Mangalore, June 14, 2013: Hundreds of mourners bid a tearful farewell to Fr Henry Castelino, a priest of Mangalore Diocese and an educationist, at the St Vincent Ferrar Chuch Valencia on June 14, Friday. He was also the former principal of St Philomena’s College, Puttur and St Mary’s College, Shirva.
Fr Henry Castelino had breathed his last on June 11 at the age of 80. He was residing at the Senior Priests’ Home at Jeppu.






Rev.Dr.Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore was the main celebrant of a mass held on the occasion. Rev.Dr.Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi, Rev.Dr.Anil Joseph Thomas Couto, Archbishop of Delhi and other priests concelebrated the Eucharistic Mass.
Fr.Antony Serrao, Parish Priest of Bendore Church, in his sermon said every individual must imbibe the noble virtues of Jesus to invoke his blessings. He also stressed the need for charity. Hailing the service activities of the departed Fr.Henry, he said he was a kind hearted priest who was dear to all and helped the education of the needy children.
Fr.Norbert D’Souza, a close friend of the departed Fr.Henry Castelino and a neighbour of the Senior Priest’ Home at Jeppu where Fr.Henry spent his last days, delivered a nostalgic eulogy.
