Mr. Bhat’s legal representative had appealed for more time to file objections to the transcript of the speech. Accordingly, Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice B. V. Nagaratna adjourned the hearing to a later date.

Recently, Suresh Bhat Bakrabail of the Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike filed a public interest litigation accusing the RSS leader of delivering a hate speech at the Samajotsava.

The High Court had directed the police to submit a transcript of the speech last month, and A. K. Subbaiah, Bakrabail’s lawyer, had produced the transcript in court.

The hearing was to be held on Wednesday, but Mr. Bhat’s lawyer urged the court to give him more time to file objections to the transcript.
