Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Feb 8, Friday, Satyajit Suratkal, Convener of Hindu Jagarana Vedike  alleged that the police have been shielding the real accused in the murder case and have  arrested Prakash and Dinesh at Tannirbavi, who, he said did not have any strong reason to go to the extent of killing Shivaraj.

Satyajit further said ever residents of Kulai too have voiced the same opinion. Shivaraj, a technician at Bharat Motors was foundered  in Tokur on July 20 last year.

On the drug mafia, he said the failure of the police department to heed to the pleas of the Vedike to crack down the drug menace, had led to the recent death of Sneha who committed suicide.
