Mangalore : HJV demands crackdown on drug mafia

Mangalore, Feb 12, 2013: The Hindu Jagarana Vedike and the Kodikere Residents Committee staged a joint protest in front of the DC office here on February 12, Tuesday, to prevail upon the authorities to crackdown the drug mafia that was operative in the city. The protest was organised to also demand the arrest of the real accused in the Kodikere Shivaraj murder case.

Speaking on the occasion, Satyajith Suratkal, state unit convenor of the Vedike, said the rampant sale of drugs  in the city has victimized several innocent youth  and was wreaking havoc on their lives. He urged the administration to initiate stern measures to root out the mafia.

On the Kodikere Shivaraj murder case, he alleged that the police had wrongly arrested two innocent men and demanded that the real killers be trapped at the earliest.

Several Hindu Jagarana Vedike leaders and members took part in the protest.
