Mangalore: Duo nabbed for drug peddling near Central Market area

Mangalore, Feb 10, 2014:  Three kg of ganja worth Rs 50,000 was seized from two drug peddlers who were caught by the CCB police near the Roopavani Theatre  in close proximity to the Central Market are in the city on February 9, Sunday.  The raid followed a tip off.

ganja Interrogations of the duo revealed that they used to sol ganja at the rate of Rs 100 per  5 gram. They have been identified as  Venkatesh (33) from Shivanagar, Moodushedde and Bablu alias Bablu Kahrji(33) from Odisha.

Police said the duo used to procure ganja from Odisha and then sell the same in Mangalore with students being their main target group.

Valentine  D’Souza, Inspector of the CCB and Dr Prashanth, Taluk Magistrate led the operation under  the direction of the Police Commissioner R  Hithendra and DCP Dr KV Jagadish.
