Mangalore: Dharmika Samithi takes out protest rally opposing Anti-Superstition Bill

Mangalore, Dec 24, 2013 : A protest rally was organised in the city on December 23, Monday by the Dharmika Swathantriya Rakshana Samithi, an affiliate of the VHP, opposing the proposed Anti-Superstition Bill 2013 planned to be enforced by the state government. The  rally was taken out from Ambedkar Circle to Town Hall where a protest meet was held.

Speaking on the occasion, Gopalji, a leader of VHP said  every individual  in the nation has the right to practice his religion and  added worship of trees, cows, nature cannot be  termed superstitious.

Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Odiyoor Mutt,  Sri Ramananda Swamiji of Kolya Mutt, Sri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Mutt and Mohandas Swamiji of Manila  who also spoke,  criticised the government for its plans to implement the Bill. The key note address was delivered by Kateel Dinesh Pai.

Satyajit Suratkal of Hindu Jagarana Vedike ,  M B Puranik, VHP leader, Kamalaksha Gandha Kadu, President of Dharmika Swathantriya Rakshana  Samithi and others were present.
