Mangalore: Congress celebrates Udupi – Chikmagalur by-poll victory

Mangalore, March 21, 2012: The DK District Congress Committee (DKDCC) and the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) organized a “vijayotsava” to celebrate the victory of its candidate Jayaprakash Hegde in the Udupi – Chikmagalur Lok Sabha by-polls. The results were announced at 10:00 a.m. on March 21 Wednesday.

 

Delivering the victory speech, Ivan D’Souza, the general secretary of the KPCC, said that people have realized that the BJP has done nothing in three years and has contributed only scams and scandals, owing to which they have elected the right candidate.

Ashraf, the former mayor; Mithun Rai, the Congress youth president; Praveen Chandra Alva; Sudhir T. K., Sadashiva Ullal; and many other Congress workers were also present.

The Congress burst crackers and distributed sweets in front of their district office.
