Mangalore City Police Western Range Service Sports Meet draws to a close

 Mangalore, Dec 13, 2013: The Western Range Service Sports Meet 2013 organised by the District Home Guards, drew to a close at the Police Grounds in the city on December 12, Thursday.

 

 

 

 

Deputy Commissioner N Prakash who was present as a chief guest, lauded the role of Home Guards who many a time assist the Police Department in maintenance of law and order and even help the society in times of emergency. He also exhorted the Home Guards to take part in sports activities which will help them stay physically fit.

District Superintendent of Police  Shanthanu Sinha,  Deputy Commandant of Home Guards V Purushotham, TP Shivakumar Dr B Rajendra Prasad and others were present.

The Deputy Commissioner distributed prizes to the winners of various contests.  Manish Kharbikar has been transferred on promotion as DIG of Karnataka State Reserve Police. He will be replaced by R Hitendra.
