Mangalore :Car catches fire near Kottara

Mangalore, Jan 22, 2013 : A Skoda Octavia car which was on way to Pune from Kasargod, was partially destroyed when fire  broke out in the bonnet of the car  while it was passing through Kottara Junction here on January 21, Monday.

 

 

 

 

One Munaf Sheikh, the owner of the car was travelling in the car along with a friend. As soon as they noticed fire, the two stopped the car on the roadside and called the police. The fire tender vehicle which  rushed to the spot, doused the fire. The engine compartment and front portion of the car was gutted in the fire.

Police suspect that  overheating of the engine due to a defective  fan belt might have caused fire.
