Mangalore: CPI (M) to hold statewide Bundh urging CBI probe into Sowjanya case on Nov 7

Mangalore, Nov 5, 2013: The CPI (M) will hold statewide Bundh on November 7 in order to urge the government to hand over the Sowjanya rape and murder case to the CBI.


Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Woodlands on November 5th, Tuesday CPI(M) State Secretary G.V. Srirama Reddy said that various political parties which is said to be fighting to provide justice for poor are not supporting the Sowjanya’s parents to gain justice.

He also said that the CID investigation into the case was there only to protect the culprits by fixing a mentally ill person. But CPI(M) will not accept the injustice and will fight against it along with few labour and student organizations.


Further, party workers will visit every village in the state and raise the issue.CPI (M) will flag off the protest march in Sullia on November 21 and protest I Mangalore urging CBI probe into Sowjanya case will be held on November 26.


CPI(M) office bearers KR Shriyan, Lokayya, BR Balakrishna Shetty, Krishnappa Salian and others were present.
