Mangalore: Bus conductor arrested for raping minor

Mangalore, July 17, 2013: A 30 year old bus conductor Faisal was arrested on July 17, Wednesday for allegedly raping a minor girl and threatening to morph her photo and upload it in the social networking site.

Faisal, a  resident of Shantinagar, Kavoor , a conductor in 47 B ’Raksha’ city bus   came into contact with the 16 year old girl from Jyothinagar, Kavoor who used to travel in  the bus daily after class.

 

He had also threatened to upload her morphed photo clicked by him, if she refused to meet him alone. Sources also revealed that when the girl’s parents were away for three days to attend a funeral, Faisal had forced his way into her house and repeatedly raped her for three days. He also threatened to kill her if she divulged the matter to her parents, thereby forcing her to maintain silence.

When the girl’s parents came to know about her pregnancy, they questioned her and she revealed the name of Faisal. Later, the girl’s parents approached the Kavoor police on July 17, Wednesday and filed complaint against him. Faisal was arrested within a  few hours.

 

Faisal has been charged under sections 376 and 506 of IPC and 3(2) (V) SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989, and section 4 of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
