Mangalore : Book exhibition inaugurated at Harvard PU College

Mangalore, Dec 14, 2012: An exhibition cum sale of books organised by the Harvard PU College in association with Prisms, Bangalore and Biblio’s, was inaugurated at the College premises at  Mannagudda on Dec 14, Friday.


Speaking after inaugurating the event, Ronald Anil Fernandes, Mangalore  Bureau Chief of  Deccan Herald,  regretted the decline in reading habit among the people. “In the past, people used to go in search of books to enhance their knowledge, but at present when books are delivered at door steps in mobile libraries, the reading population has decreased,” he said.

To develop the habit of reading, one need not necessarily read mere research and philosophy books, he said and added one can improve one’s language as well as gain knowledge even by reading simple comic books or story books.


College Principal Dr Kishore Kumar Rai  Sheni was present on the dais.


Dr Shivasharan Shetty, MD of Namma TV welcomed the gathering. Palli Prabhakar Shetty, Administrator of the College proposed vote of thanks. English lecturer Ranjan compered the programme.


A wide collection of books of different streams for all age groups are on display at the exhibition.
