Mangaluru, Sep 27, 2023: In a shocking incident that unfolded around 2:10 am on Sunday morning, a man allegedly made a menacing attempt to harm his own children, including his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
A distraught woman sought refuge at the Mangaluru East police station, accusing her husband of engaging in heated arguments with her and issuing threats to harm their children, including the terrifying threat of setting them on fire. She recounted how he aggressively advanced towards her, compelling her to flee to the police station for assistance. Regrettably, the children remained at home during this harrowing ordeal.
In response, the police promptly contacted the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) at 112. On-duty police officers swiftly arrived at the scene and brought the accused individual, Mahesh, along with his two children—a six-year-old boy and a one-and-a-half-year-old girl—to the police station.
Mahesh informed the police that his wife had allegedly assaulted him. When advised to file a formal complaint, he issued threats that spared no one and he forcefully dragged the children outside the police station. During this alarming sequence of events, PSI Prathiba, who was on night duty, was summoned to the police station.
As the accused’s wife appeared on the police station’s verandah, Mahesh began shouting and made menacing threats towards her daughter. He subjected the child to mistreatment, even throwing her to the ground, resulting in injuries to the child’s neck and head, causing her to cry out in pain.
Following PSI Pratibha’s intervention, the boy and his mother were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention. Head Constable Sharath Kumar played a crucial role in rescuing the child. A case has been registered against Mahesh for his alleged disruptive actions.
