Mangalore, Sept 23, 2013: Jagadish Poojari from Puttur has lodged a complaint at the Pandeshwar women’s police station against a man who had cheated his sister after reportedly promising a good job for her in the National Research Centre for Cashew(NRCC). The accused has been named as Oscar Mendes.
As per the complainant, Oscar Medina had introduced himself as the nephew (sister’s son ) of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Oscar Fernandes and had promised to exert his influence to get the girl a job.
The complainant also said that Medina had demanded Rs 3 lakhs for the job, but when the former refused, reduced the amount to Rs 50,000. Medina as a proof to his high contacts had earlier produced a photo of his along with Oscar Fernandes and also a video in which he was seen with Rahul Gandhi.
In his complaint, Jagadish said he was introduced to Medina by his friend Preetham D’Souza who worked as a sales executive in a showroom in Mangalore. It is learnt, Medina had asked Jagadish to transfer the amount to Preetham’s account.
Jagadish said Medina was not available for contact once he received the cash.
