Man dies after being struck by train

Kundapur, August 10, 2024: On the night of August 7, a man was killed after being struck by a train while walking along the railway tracks.

The deceased has been identified as Lakshman (60) from Kalavara village. After going outside to urinate, he did not return home, leading his family to search for him. His body was found near the railway tracks close to his home.

It is believed that he was either under the influence of alcohol or asleep when he wandered onto the tracks and was hit by the train. He suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A case has been registered at the Kundapura Rural Police Station.
