Man attempting to loot ATM at Derlakatte trapped red-handed

Mangalore, Sep 16, 2013 : The Ullal  police have trapped red handed a man who was trying to  loot a Corporation Bank  ATM at Derlakatte on September 14, Saturday. The arrested man is  Arun Kumar Shetty(30) of Bagambila.

 

A bike that was parked in front of the ATM near Ayyappa  Temple at Derlakatte made the cops who were  on a night patrol in that area suspicious. When they   approached the ATM they saw a man wearing a monkey cap at work. He was trying to open the ATM Machine with a gas cutter.

The police closed the  ATM door  immediately and  the man was subsequently arrested and handed over to the Konaje police.

 The man is learnt to have told the police that a loss he incurred in business had forced him to resort to burglary. He was reportedly running a battery shop near the ATM.

Investigations are underway.
