Man assaults mother-in-law for objecting to second marriage

Kundapur, April 9, 2012 : A man allegedly assaulted his mother-in-law because she refused to allow him to marry his sister-in-law on April 7 Saturday.

The victim Gulabi (40) of Basri Beru near Kundapur is now in hospital. Gulabi’s second daughter Bhavani is married to Ganapathi, who fell in love with Gulabi’s fourth daughter Prema. He had been repeatedly harassing Gulabi to get him married to Prema, but Gulabi had refused.

Reportedly, Ganapathy came to her house when she was all alone and began pestering her again. There was a heated argument between Ganapathy and his mother-in-law, in the course of which Ganapathy attacked his mother-in-law.

Gulabi’s relatives rushed her to a hospital in Kundapur.

The Kollur police have registered a case.
