Man Held for Obstructing Woman Police Officer on Night Patrol in Udupi

Udupi, July 27, 2025: A 25-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, July 26, for allegedly misbehaving with a woman police officer on night patrol duty in Udupi.

The incident occurred around 2:30 am when the officer intercepted the man, identified as Sagar, a resident of Kodavoor in Udupi taluk, after observing his suspicious behaviour. During questioning, he allegedly used abusive language, attempted to assault the officer, and hindered her from discharging her official duties.

The Manipal police arrested the accused and produced him before the Udupi court, which subsequently remanded him to judicial custody.
