Malpe: Four booked for allegedly cheating investors of Rs 30.90 lakh

Malpe, Jul 6, 2026: A case has been registered at the Malpe Police Station after several people were allegedly cheated of ₹30.90 lakh under the pretext of a lucrative investment scheme.

According to the complaint, Pradeep Acharya, Jyothi Jattan, Damayanthi A., and Rohini visited the residence of Indira Bangera in Kodi village on June 19 and introduced an investment scheme operated under the name BG Wealth Sharing. They claimed the company had an office at the Karthik Sahaj Building in Malpe and assured that any money invested with the firm would double.


Fraud

The accused further claimed that the company was a foreign-based firm and that a one-time investment would be converted into a dollar-based account, where the funds would be invested.

Believing their claims, Indira Bangera, her family members, and several others collectively invested ₹30.90 lakh with the accused.

However, the accused allegedly failed to return the invested amount and later shut down their office, thereby cheating Indira Bangera and the other investors.

Based on the complaint, Malpe police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
