Malpe: 2 Fisheries workers fall ill after inhaling toxic air inside storage of boat

Mangaluru, Sep 02, 2023: A incident wherein two fisheries workers fell ill after inhaling toxic air inside the storage of a boat at Malpe port on September 1, Friday evening. The workers had entered the boat to unload the fish stock when the incident took place.

 

Two Odisha based workers Raju and Jaya had entered  the  storage  when the  toxic air affected them resulting in breathing issues.

Immediately they were rescued by social worker Eshwar Malpe and other fishermen and administered first aid before being rushed to hospital.

Both of them are said to be out of danger.
