Main Line vessel M.V.Hans. Pepenburg calls at New Mangalore Port

Mangalore, Feb 12,2013: M.V. Hans Pepenburg from East Africa (Port Matwara), a  Main Line container vessel of M/s Pacific International Lines (PIL),  called at New Mangalore Port on February 11, Monday.

This is the third main line vessel which called at the Port during the current financial year. M/s Seamaster Shipping Logistics (Seaways group) are the agents of the vessel and M/s Delta Marine Logistics, Ltd, the Stevedores.


As many as 247 boxes of raw cashew meant for supply to various cashew processing units in the region, were unloaded from the vessel.


While sailing back to East Africa enroute Singapore, the vessel will load 250 TEUs of export containers with cargoes like fishmeal, fish oil, granite, plywood, etc. towards Far East, China, Bangladesh, Taiwan, Korea, Africa etc. This is the highest export any main line vessel is loading at New Mangalore Port.


  The transit time is reduced and the handling cost will be economical in such cases wherein mainline vessels directly call at the port. The voyage from East Africa to Mangalore will be only 9-10 days whereas vessels via Colombo will take 28 days.
